Guide to Runebreaker

runebreaker

Explore the mysterious tomb by breaking away the dirt and stone blocks that stand in your way. Move your paddle left and right to prevent the runebreaker ball from falling off the bottom of the screen. Hit all of the special rune blocks to move onto the next level or collect bonus points by hitting special blocks.

Aim:

Hit the special rune blocks to move up the game levels.

How-to:

Use the mouse, arrow keys, A + D or Q + E to control the bat to bounce the ball up to hit the runes (lighter brown blocks with symbols). Dropping a ball will result in you losing a life – you start with 5 lives. Different block types and items may appear during game play, see table below for details.

Items/objects:

Note: All items must be collected by touching the bat. If they fall without touching the bat, nothing will happen.

Tips/suggestions/strategies

  • Use the mouse instead of the keypad as it allows you to move the bat faster.
  • Always watch the ball, not the items.
  • Do not try and go after all the items, more will come.
  • Do not try and avoid ‘bad’ items, as you may lose a life – remember they aren’t that bad.
  • Do not try to direct the ball, as it will eventually get to where you want it.
  • Patience is key!
  • In level 4, take out one side of blocks, and try and get the ball up that side and on top of the other blocks. This saves times and points by trying to take out the middle or other side of blocks.
