Welcome to the first diary post for Princess Xara. I’ve been asked to share some of my questing and gaming experiences from VPN. Let me start by telling you a bit about myself.
I LOVE video games. I have loved video games since my parents first bought the Atari system for our family. Oh the hours we spent playing Pong, Centipede and the ultmate family game Asteroids!! I still remember watching MY mom play that one…*rolls eyes*
Anyway, I was really good at most video games which was odd for a girl back then. The boys hated playing against me because I would always win. Being good at games gave me a confidence I didn’t know I had. From there I graduated as the gaming systems got better and better. The day I got my laptop was the day I discovered online games. Unfortunately, I was never as good at those as I am at video games. However, I found the community fun and a great escape from the pressures of life. And I love being able to help others have fun!
I found Twin Skies through a friend and was immediately drawn to this community. In the past, I have found MMO games to be intimidating…something I didn’t understand and seemed to be more for the college-aged crowd…I felt too old and too inexperienced. I was quickly proved wrong as I navigated my way around Twin Skies.
Now I have found my place with VPN. I play a Pirate. I thought about trying a Viking and Ninja also but realized this would take way too much time and energy for me! And while I have nothing against Vikings and Ninja’s per se, I think the Pirate is the best looking…
Yesterday I had the pleasure of building monuments all over the island and was rewarded handsomely for my hard work. I turned in my first set of 8 rune flowers to be given a wondrous Ghost Axe. Oh how much stronger I felt! A short while later, after a few failed attempts to gain rune chips, I turned in my second set of 8 rune flowers to be awarded an amazing Ghost Sword. Immediately I felt so much more intelligent! Alas, my feelings of strength and intelligence wavered as I turned in my third set of rune flowers only to be given the Ghost Axe again. I think the poor old traveler was a bit confused, but I thanked him anyway and left to prove myself once again. It was worth the effort, as I turned in my next set of 8 rune flowers to find I was given the last prize, the Runic Robe. I bowed with respect, took my robe, and wondered if I would see this old traveller again….
With my goals met and gaming done (blast that ninja, a tale for another time), I set out to help others on their journey…until next time…
