The Meteorites

The minigame Jonny posted about earlier has finally been released.  Use the flags to mark the mines and find the treasure in this amazingly fun Minesweeper-type game.  10 new achievements have been released with this game, which will be added to our database soon!

All Your Treasure Are Belong To Me!

The new Face equipment slot has now been added.  You can put masks, eye patches, and a whole assortment of other fun items here AND wear a hat.  YAY!  Some new items have been added to the Meteor Store for this: Warrior’s Battle Scar (forVikings), Exquisite Hoop Earrings (for Pirates), and Oni’s Blindfold (for Ninjas).

Also, gifting achievements have been implemented and the number of friends you can have has gone up from 80 to 200!

Finally.  Let there be rejoicing!  Inventory Upgrades!  3 quests have been added to each starting island that reward bags, which will increase your inventory size.  You’ll notice 2 slots that can be unlocked by purchasing them through the Meteor Store.  Those will be released sometime next week.

The Twin Skies favorite that stole all our meteorites back in the old days has now been added to VPN…that’s right, folks: Plaice Your Bets. Not much has changed. Make a bet…decide your risk…and let it spin…

New Premium Hairstyles have been added to the Barbershop, you can now play minigames 5 times per character, and they’ve changed the navigation bar on the top of your screen.

Lots of little thingies to report. The first thing I’d like to let you know is that they brought the energy levels down again. MG still made some changes, though. Now, you’ll only get a point increase for every level you gain. They also changed the amount of energy required for quests.

They added a switcheroo game to each starting island. Galleon Graveyard for Pirates, Peaceful Monestary for Vikings, and Misty Lake for Ninjas. Also, they’ll be putting out a VPN version of Witchery 101 and the Wheel of Cats later on this week.

Finally, they’ve added more Buddy Icons to the Media Gallery.

You may have logged into your VPN account to see your character have energy looking like this:

and you probably rejoiced a bit…hold on a moment.  Click on “Quests.”  There…ya see?  Everything is still balanced.  VPN had a major energy-overhaul today.  You have more energy, yeah, but it also costs more energy to do stuff now.   Also, the energy potions in the Meteor Store will now recharge 100 points.  Is it going to stay this way?   Who knows…the important thing to remember is that the game is in BETA, so if you don’t like it, politely let someone know through a feedback form or in a thread on the forums.  ALSO, if you love the change, let someone know that as well.  I’m sure Meteor Games likes to hear positive feedback.

Also, as we’re sure you’ve noticed, the VPN and Meteor Games sites have been crashing quite a bit.  They’re working on this.  This week, they’re working on changing over to a different format for their databases that will handle the higher load it’s been getting (poor thing…working itself literally to death).
