The Meteorites

Xara joins Max and Jonny for the 8th episode of the only Meteor Games related podcast. This week we cover the large amount of news released in the week, including new minigame, achievements and items.

We hate boring websites, don’t you? Everyone at The Meteorites works really hard (in their free time) to make sure it isn’t a boring site. Over the next days, weeks and months we will be working on improving the themeteorites.net.

Yesterday, thanks to a suggestion from a visitor, we made The Meteorites logo (top-left) link to the home page. The logo on the databases also links to the home page – themeteorites.net. This may seem like a very simple and minor change to the site, but we had forgotten to implement it into the site design. Thanks to visitor suggestions like this, we can continue to improve the site for your and our benefit.

Who doesn’t love new things? From the feedback we received from a recent poll here on The Meteorites, we are going ahead with a social network-type section of the website, for fans and players of Meteor Games to interact in more ways. Along with this, we will be adding some interesting features to our Databases. These upcoming features include (but are not limited to): item wishlists/gallery, achievement log, integration with our social network. These two updates aren’t the only thing we are currently working on, after the Google Wave was unveiled recently we have decided to try and implement that into our website.

If you didn’t know, Google Wave is a revolutionary means of communication. It allows for live editing and chatting, easy creation of content and can be customised with gadgets/extensions (ie live text translation). Google Wave is not yet released to the general public, but when it is, we will be working to add it to the site, adding a great new and interesting feature to our site.

Edit: If any of you were wondering, this Google Wave addition to the site in the future, is an experimental feature to the site. We will test it for a couple months to see if we and you like it, if not it will be removed

I’m sure you can all read the news, just as well as we can. Wavecharmer (Pirate version of Witchery 101) has been released, along with quite a few new achievements. These have been added to our Achievement Database.

The winner of the third Fan Art competition have been announced. Congratulations to all winners, and don’t forget to send in your submissions if you haven’t already entered. Good luck to everyone entering for the next competition.

The Jackatrice have gone! Jackatrice Egg image has changed to a broken egg shell, and the description changed to “Whoops.” Along with this, new quests have opened up at Emerald Acres, something seems not quite right in that part of Hydra Island…

The new quests also have some new achievements. These can also be found at our Achievement Database. If we are missing any achievements, there will be a contact form added soon. For now, you can either comment on posts or email us: mail@themeteorites.net

Edit:

Two new quests have opened up in The Silver Bay – Hydra Island. They are related to Wavecharmer, and include four new items: Lesser Fiery Wavecharm, Lesser Icy Wavecharm, Greater Fiery Wavecharm and Greater Icy Wavecharm.

New items in the Meteor Store allow for unlocked third and fourth inventory bag slots. The bank upgrade items have had new images added to them. These items have been added to our Item Database along with hundreds of other items from VPN.

Witchery 101 is now gone, and the Plaice Your Bets jackpot will now increase at a slower rate.

Edit: Witchery 101 is not got. It was just early posts from people after the update saying it was missing.
