Meteor Games Network

Poking around once again, we have uncovered some very exciting news: a Meteor Games Network. This website looks to feature a site currency of Meteor Credits, which can be bought or obtained by signing up with sponsors. The new Meteor Games website, which is supposed to be released in the not too distant future will be a portal for all the games the company has produced.

Exclusive Games Information

Being as nosey as we are here at themeteorites.net we have uncovered the names of two projects from Meteor Games.

1. Play Bitten – We believe this to be a game that will be released on social networks & meteorgames.com.

2. Hero Pets – Hero Pets we think was to be a virtual pet website from Meteor Games. But this idea has been shelved for the time being. We are unsure as of yet whether this is the pet site talked about recently on the Twin Skies forums.

These projects have their own domains:
www.playbitten.com
www.heropets.com
but both lead to the current Meteor Games company website.

Meteor Toolbar

Ok so it’s not quite a toolbar, but now on Makewords application, there is now a banner which looks to be the first signs of Meteor Games 2.0

Meteor Toolbar

As can be seen from the screen shot (above), the toolbar is not finished, with links not and images not showing up. By clicking on the meteor games icon on the left, it would lead to a pop-up to signup for an account.

Makewords

Makewords is the first full game from Meteor Games, released today. Makewords is a FaceBook application which, in a few weeks, will be available to play on meteorgames.com and MySpace.

makewords

In the game you are presented with the above screen. You have to make words by connecting the letters in the grid. Using the arrows on either side of the grid, you can rotate it, saving you standing on your head to find possible letter combinations. Don’t forget to click Enter when you’ve found a word! The highest score possible in the particular game is shown on the left with: “Possible Score: x”. Total amount of words, and their lengths are shown top left of the game screen. The time (3 minutes), will count down in the top right, so keep an eye on it.

The wooden character you can seen by the Enter box is called splinty. “[he] is the ’star’ of [the] new game makewords. He enjoys long walks in the park and making friends. His pet peeve is people who spell weird with ie!”

From within the application, you can send and receive challenges, view game news and view your statistics.

On the Play page, there is a box which shows your ranking compared to your friends. This is a great way to show off how good you are with words, or, in my case, an embarrassing way of showing how bad you are with words.

Meteor Friends

This great new game is made by TPOSG and the Allen, who worked on Twin Skies Tower Defense.
