The Meteorites

Today brings some nice new features and items to Ranch Town including the Jam Machine (that we predicted would be released soon), more decorations and a feature that is already available in Island Paradise – boosts.

The Jam Machine requires honey and fruit to produce jam. Of course these all sell for different prices, and can be found in our updated Guide To Ranch Town: Machines (in the produce column).

The decorations are also a nice addition to the game, for those of you willing to give up precious space for beautifying your ranch.

There are now 2 types of boosts available to be bought with Meteor Credits. For 10 meteor credits you can decrease the harvest time of a crop by 8 hours, and for 20 meteor credits, by 16 hours.

Unfortunately, I am finding the game to be unplayable right now with error messages appearing every few seconds! I’m sure Meteor Games will get on top of this and get it fixed soon.

It looks as if Meteor Games has joined Applifier, a new initiative – for lack of a better word –  to help independent social game developers. It looks as if by joining this, it will just place a banner below their games, helping to promote other games in the network. This should only be good for Meteor Games, and help them in gaining more players for their ever-growing catalogue of games.

This is just a small note to mention that as we found a few days ago, you now have the option to choose the gender of your character. Simply click your ranch’s name to choose between cowboy or cowgirl.

Bees have also been released and are available in the shop for 2500 coins. The bees use alfalfa to produce honey which sells for 5 coins. Our Guide To Ranch Town has been updated with this information.

Coming soon to Ranch Town is the opportunity to change your character/avatar/cowboy/cowgirl – whatever you want to call it. As well as choosing the gender, I assume you will be able to adjust its appearance.

Meteor Games has released a large update to Ranch Town today. The update brings a cowboy character to your ranch, as well as the opportunity to help out your friends with insect infestations and new decorations.

These features are all ones that had been shown to us, or that we (The Meteorites) uncovered. As a result, the new decorative items are already in our Ranch Town Guide, and we will add pricing information for reference shortly.
